The 3 P's of Personal Safety

Imagine that you have a big bubble around you, protecting you. It's a force field that no one can get through to you without your permission. This force field keeps you safe from any bad guys around. In fact, for some bad guys, you are totally invisible; for others, not worth the trouble. This force field is Prevention, the first P of the Three P's of Personal Safety. Prevention is the implementation of strategies to keep the bad guy away from you.

Now imagine the boundary of that big bubble about 5 feet on every side of you. The outside of that bubble is where you keep everyone that you don't know very well (or don't want to know well). The only people you let inside your bubble are the people whom you love and trust, OR want to get to know better. You use Perception to recognize and differentiate who comes in and who stays out. Perception, that's the second P. The definition of physical and emotional boundaries is part of Perception, using awareness and intuition.

Now imagine that you have let someone inside your bubble that you wish you hadn't. Perhaps your Prevention strategies were not enough. Perhaps your Perception was ignored or fooled. However it turns out, there is a bad guy in your bubble and you want him out. This is where Power comes in. You have the right and ability and the Power to use your brain and the bony parts of your body to get that bad guy out.

When I wrote DEFY the Bad Guy, I wanted to cover all aspects of personal safety, from the moment that the bad guy sees you and chooses you as a target, to how we sometimes let bad guys within our boundaries, to how to use the powerful tools we have to get out of a dangerous situation.

My plan for this blog is to pose personal safety questions and give you powerful practical solutions that you can use in your everyday life.
